For building a new web-application the first step is to install tk_self in a directory on you server (as described by Installation). This tutorial assumes that you are using a UNIX-oid OS, like Linux, BSD or Mac OS X with the apache webserver.
We will now give this application the URI http://tutorial.tkself.test: open the file /etc/hosts and add the line
127.0.0.1 tutorial.tkself.test
At next configure the apache webserver (as described by Installation), set the directive ServerName to tutorial.tkself.test and restart apache. Now enter the URI tutorial.tkself.test into the address field of you browser and, if everything went well, you will get a welcome message from tk_self:
